| Company Description | The Northwest Association for Biomedical Research (NABR) is a non-profit educational organization established to promote the public understanding of the implications and applications of biomedical research. NABR members come from industry, academia, health care, and voluntary health organizations. Member services include: training for scientists interested in community outreach, training and support for animal care providers, a communications network for security personnel, and expertise in crisis communications. NABR’s popular education programs include: Speakers’ Bureau: Over 120 volunteer researchers, physicians, veterinarians, animal care staff and patients tell their stories to classrooms and community groups throughout Washington state; Ethics in the Science Classroom Professional development for Teachers: Middle and high school science teachers discuss and practice new strategies for integrating ethical discussions into their classrooms; and Essay & Poster Contest for 7th & 8th grade students - 7th & 8th grade students create an essay or a poster that surrounds the theme of 'Biomedical Breakthroughs'. | |
