Seattle Genetics

Research Associate II BioProcess Development

Process Sciences - Bothell, Washington

Description

Seattle Genetics is an emerging multi-product, global biotechnology company that develops and commercializes transformative therapies targeting cancer to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. ADCETRIS® (brentuximab vedotin) uses the company’s industry-leading antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) technology and is approved for the treatment of multiple CD30-expressing lymphomas.

Beyond ADCETRIS®, the company has established a pipeline of novel targeted therapies at various stages of clinical testing, including three in ongoing or planned pivotal trials for solid tumors. Enfortumab vedotin for metastatic urothelial cancer and tisotumab vedotin for metastatic cervical cancer use our proprietary ADC technology. Tucatinib, a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is in a pivotal trial for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. In addition, we are leveraging our expertise in empowered antibodies to build a portfolio of proprietary immuno-oncology agents in clinical trials targeting hematologic malignancies and solid tumors.

Summary

The conjugation process development (CPD) group is seeking a resourceful and motivated Research Associate (level 2) to participate in the development of antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) GMP manufacturing processes. CPD is a collaborative group that works together to ensure that ADC processes are simple, effective, efficient, and fluid, that all timelines, documentation and regulatory expectations are met, and that internal and external customers are satisfied. Group staff may act as independent CPD representatives on multi-functional CMC teams, and play a central role in moving innovative oncology drugs into clinical trials and commercial use.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Analyze and compile data to generate reports and presentations.
  • Present findings/analyses/plans to working groups, and other groups within Process Sciences.
  • Carry out experiments to evaluate/implement new technology in development and/or manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A., with experience that demonstrates lab capability.
  • Willingness to work with highly potent molecules.
  • Evidence of bringing energy and productivity to the work-place.
  • Demonstrated careful attention to detail in scientific experimentation, as well as problem solving, time management, and organization skills.
  • A team player with good communication skills and a desire to achieve team and individual goals.
  • Good technical writing skill.
  • Strong computer proficiency.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Direct experience with antibodies or protein modification.
  • Experience in a GMP or regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with instrumentation used in biomanufacturing including tangential flow filtration and HPLC.
