Senior Financial Analyst Commercial Expense

Finance & Accounting - Bothell, Washington

Summary

You will be joining Seagen at an exciting time of growth, where multiple cross-functional commercial finance processes are evolving to support the changing business landscape. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with Commercial teams to support the day-to-day activities related to operating spend within the commercial department. You will gather project and financial information for accruals, budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning. You will work closely with your manager to prepare quarterly financial reports and help provide variance review and analysis to be presented to the commercial business partners. Additionally, you will develop and maintain valued relationships with cross-functional teams by consistently delivering high quality work and improving processes.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Partner with commercial project managers to gather and translate financial information for proper timing of monthly accruals
  • Responsible for various aspects of the month-end close process, including accrual tracking, journal entries, reconciliations, and corrections ensuring compliance with GAAP principals
  • Support annual budget process, interacting with commercial team and collecting, compiling budget related data, including consolidation and presentation of the data
  • Support the financial planning process, analyze, and forecast data to help drive business decisions
  • Preparation and presentation of budget and forecast to actual spend reports and provide detailed analysis of key variances
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships cross-functionally by consistently delivering high quality work, strong communication practices, and improving processes
  • Preparation and support of audit schedules and internal controls
  • Assist manager with commission accruals and validation of quarterly payments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in accounting and/or financial planning & analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with experience making and communicating data-driven results
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a clear ability to effectively communicate amongst different levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail required as well as strong prioritization, communication, and organization skills
  • Ability to present complex analysis with clarity
  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to think strategically, as well as tactically
  • Be a motivated self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Proficiency in Excel, experience with Smart Sheets and Power BI a plus
