Summary:

The Sr. Clinical Scientist, Clinical Development will be responsible for supporting clinical trials and the development strategy for programs with in the Late Stage portfolio. The successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in clinical trials and supporting development programs, in addition to being adept at managing relationships across collaborations and with the external clinical community.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Act as recognized clinical expert for assigned studies both internally and externally
  • Plan and lead the implementation of all study startup/conduct/close-out activities as applicable
  • Set the medical review strategy and lead the team in medical data review
  • Author protocols and contribute to authoring of clinical study reports, IBs, ICFs, training documents, and other clinical and regulatory documents
  • Partner with clinical operations and other functional areas for the successful implementation and execution of clinical studies
  • Maintains scientific and clinical knowledge in the specific therapeutic and disease area(s) of assignment
  • Provides strategic clinical science support for assigned studies and programs
  • Leads or otherwise participates in relevant sub-team/WG meetings, and other cross-functional interactions and communications
  • Supports Medical Directors in preparing for Health Authority meetings, and participates as appropriate, assist medical directors in HA responses (or author)
  • Lead study start up activities and train staff, including field CRA’s in these activities

Required Qualifications:

  • PharmD, PhD (or equivalent degree) in relevant discipline with 2 years’ experience as a clinical scientist in pharma/biotech industry, may include fellowship in clinical development
  • OR an MSN, MPH, MS (or equivalent) with 5 years+ of relevant experience in pharma/biotech industry, with at least 2 years’ experience as a clinical scientist in pharma/biotech industry
  • Broad experience in the principles and techniques of data analysis, interpretation, and clinical relevance
  • Comprehensive understanding of product and safety profiles
  • Has demonstrated, through past experience, abilities to competently manage the majority of Clinical
  • Scientist deliverables associated with assigned clinical studies
  • Demonstrates a passion for helping patients with cancer and for the science of oncology
  • Has a strong leadership presence with an ability to work effectively with other clinical and scientific leaders
  • Has a collaborative style with internal company leadership, external development partners and investigators/medical professionals
  • Is a team player, works well in a team environment both as a leader and a key contributor
  • Has a global perspective and mindset, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from myriad cultures, backgrounds, and geographies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience in clinical oncology or oncology drug development
  • 3+ years’ of relevant experience in pharma/biotech industry for PharmD, PhD, level candidate

The hiring pay range for this position is $155,000 - $200,200 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
