Summary:
The US Medical Director will lead the development of US medical strategy and execution of tactics for the TIVDAK program. The medical director will function as a scientific and medical resource for the Medical Affairs function at Seagen, as well as other cross-functional teams across the company. This person will be responsible for providing medical expertise and leadership to Medical Affairs, HEOR, and commercial teams. This person will represent the US region at alliance partnership meetings and work with the global medical director to plan for and drive the execution of key medical affairs and cross-functional projects. The role will interface with multiple internal global and regional functions including medical information, scientific communication, field medical science liaisons, commercial (marketing, sales, managed markets), health outcomes, regulatory, clinical development and safety, as well as external partners and physicians in the community.
Principal Responsibilities:
Specific duties are outlined below but are not limited to:
- Lead the development and execution of product specific US regional medical affairs strategies
- Responsible for development and execution of projects and deliverables intended to increase awareness of data generated by Seagen preclinical and clinical studies, as well as data generated from other sources (i.e., HEOR, RWE, ISTs)
- Represent Medical Affairs and serve as medical expert on specific projects both within the function and on cross-functional teams
- Participate on cross-functional medical affairs teams with the goal of developing and implementing integrated medical strategies and deliverables for Seagen products
- Serve as the medical reviewer on regional-specific external-facing material including but not limited Standard Response Documents (SRD), FAQs, payer policy resources, Promotional Review Committee (PARC) escalations
- Collaborate with the field medical liaison team and support reactive material development to address healthcare provider questions
- Help identify and effectively interact with thought leaders to engage in scientific exchange to meet the needs of patients and advance the science
- Represent US medical affairs cross-functional team in program-specific alliance forums

Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD or PharmD) required
- Progressive medical/scientific affairs and/or clinical development experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry and/or healthcare organization required (6+ years desired)
- Ability to think strategically and deliver critical medical affairs capabilities including: evidence generation, scientific communications, medical information, congress strategies, scientific interactions, post-marketing clinical research, etc.
- Provide functional leadership in a matrix setting
- Proven track record of working effectively in diverse teams involving multi-functional disciplines
- Analytic and synthetic capacity; Ability to understand and simplify scientific concepts
- Clear and influential communication: ability to address the scientific and non-scientific community as a target group
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Collaborative mindset; good communication skills, fluent in English
- Patient-centric approach; understand business and customer needs
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience in driving medical strategy
- Knowledge of drug development process
- Experience in oncology
- Have worked in an international team setting with member of different cultural, racial/ethnic and language backgrounds
- Understanding and experience working in an alliance partnership environment
Travel:
- Willingness/ability to ~30% travel domestically. International travel may be required

The hiring pay range for this position is $202,000 to $262,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
